More Moving Tips

  1. Designate a room in your home as the "boxing room", a place where you can work a little every day on packing and boxing your items. This will help to alleviate the stress that comes with packing everything up all at once and will keep all of your packed items organized in a single location.

  2. Write on your packed boxes what is inside and which room the contents belong in. This will let you and the movers know where to place the boxes in your new residence.

  3. If you own pets, you may want to keep them with a friend or family member on your moving day. Pets often freak out with all of the excitement and chaos that comes with moving.

  4. If it is possible, schedule to move into your new home on a weekday. Doing so will ensure that important businesses, such as utilities and banks, are open.

  5. Items that are important to you, like photos, jewelry, or significant documents, should be packed separately and taken with you when the movers come. By doing this, you can make sure that these items make it to your new home safely.
